Get the longer versionWhat is Livara Chat?
Livara is a private messenger for web and Android. It brings direct messages, private groups, calls, files, voice notes, shared Boards and optional AI tools into one place. Direct and private-group content is end-to-end encrypted on your device.
Do I need a phone number?
No. You can create an account with a username and password. Livara uses SRP for sign-in, so your password itself never crosses the network.
Is Livara free to use?
Yes. Messaging is free, with no advertising and no processing of message content for advertising. Livara AI API features require Livara AI Pro.
Which conversations are end-to-end encrypted?
Direct messages use the hybrid post-quantum LVR1 protocol, and private-group content uses LGS1 sender-key encryption. Public channels are readable by design. Routing metadata remains visible to the server. Optional server recording of calls is a separate transport-encrypted mode with a visible REC state.
Can I use Livara on both web and Android?
Yes. Open the web app in a current browser or install the Android Beta APK from the download page. The app requires Android 8.0+. Both use the same account and conversations.
How can I check the Android download?
The download page publishes a SHA-256 checksum for the current Android APK. In the Proof Lab, you can hash your downloaded file locally and compare it with that digest. Your file is not uploaded. A matching checksum checks integrity against the published digest; it is not an independent security audit.
